Triona’s research focuses on the use of zwitterionic and non-zwitterionic polymers for sublingual drug delivery, with particular emphasis on their solubility, stability, and mucosal permeability.
She will outline her progression from an integrated MSci in Forensic and Medical Sciences to her PhD research at the University of Reading. She will highlight the skills and insights gained through diverse experiences in academic research, teaching, and industry roles at CooperVision, BBI Solutions, and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Central to her PhD is the development of zwitterionic polymers for sublingual drug delivery. The report will emphasize the value of interdisciplinary learning, the transferability of laboratory and regulatory skills, and the importance of adaptability in navigating both academic and industrial scientific environments.
