On the afternoon of November 11th, the inauguration ceremony for the "HAUT-Inha Institute of Technology" was jointly held by our university and South Korea's Inha University at the Lianhua Street Campus of HAUT. Attending the ceremony were Wang Huaxing, Director of the Foreign Cooperation and Exchange Office of the Henan Provincial Department of Education; Zhao Mingyu, President of Inha University; Wu Zhishen, President of our university; Zhao Renyong, Vice President of our university; along with responsible officials from relevant functional departments and schools. The ceremony was presided over by Liu Guoshi, Director of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation.

In his address, President Wu Zhishen first extended a warm welcome to President Zhao Mingyu and his delegation for their long journey from Korea, and expressed gratitude to the Provincial Department of Education for its long-standing and strong support for the university's internationalization efforts. He particularly emphasized that the successful approval of the HAUT-Inha Institute of Technology is the outcome of long-term mutual trust and joint efforts between our university and Inha University. He stated that our university will collaborate closely with Inha University, pooling high-quality educational resources to strive towards establishing the HAUT-Inha Institute of Technology as a new highland for cultivating international talents in our province, a model platform for scientific research innovation and international exchange, and an innovative benchmark for Sino-foreign cooperative education institutions in science and engineering.

In his speech, President Zhao Mingyu reviewed the cooperative history between the two universities over the past decade, emphasizing that the profound mutual trust and friendship formed the solid foundation for today's achievement. He expressed firm belief that by joining hands, the two universities will achieve even more fruitful results in areas such as cooperative education, student and faculty exchanges, and scientific research collaboration, propelling the strategic partnership to new heights.

Director Wang Huaxing, representing the Henan Provincial Department of Education, extended warm congratulations on the establishment of HAUT-Inha Institute of Technology, noting it is the first Sino-foreign cooperative undergraduate education institution in the province established in partnership with a Korean university. She fully affirmed the outstanding achievements and rich experience accumulated by both universities in the field of educational internationalization. Director Wang pointed out that cross-border educational cooperation is a significant trend in the development of global higher education and an important platform for international people-to-people exchanges. She expressed hope that our university and Inha University would fully leverage their respective unique advantages in disciplinary heritage, high-quality educational resources, and international education, aiming to build the HAUT-Inha Institute of Technology into a model for China-Korea higher education cooperation and a benchmark for China-Korea cultural exchanges.

During the inauguration ceremony, the presidents of the two universities also signed a Memorandum of Academic Exchange, laying a solid foundation for in-depth future cooperation in areas such as scientific research and faculty-student exchanges.

Following the ceremony, the inaugural Joint Management Committee meeting for the Inha Institute of Technology of HAUT was specifically convened. Vice President Zhao Renyong of our university and responsible persons from related units attended the meeting, which was chaired by Zhang Haojun, Dean of the College of International Education. Both sides engaged in in-depth and pragmatic discussions concerning the specific preparatory work for the Inha Institute of Technology and future cooperation plans.

Moving forward, our university will work hand-in-hand with Inha University, maintaining close coordination, deeply integrating their respective strengths, innovating teaching quality assurance systems, and establishing a distinctive mechanism for cultivating international talents. These efforts aim to ensure the smooth establishment and operation of HAUT-Inha Institute of Technology, fully leverage the external effects of this Sino-foreign cooperative education venture, drive international scientific research collaboration in related disciplines and enhance international exchanges for faculty and students, thereby adding new momentum to the development of our university's educational internationalization.
