The non-independent legal entity Sino-foreign cooperative higher-education institution, jointly applied for by our university and South Korea’s Inha University, is the Henan University of Technology - Inha Institute of Technology, which has been officially approved for establishment by the Ministry of Education.
This is the first Sino-foreign cooperative institution approved for our university, following the earlier launch of six joint undergraduate programs with the University of Reading (UK), Bangor University (UK), and Chung Yuan Christian University (Taiwan). The approval marks another historic breakthrough in our efforts to introduce high-quality overseas educational resources and innovative elements and to carry out open, high-quality education.
The Henan University of Technology-Inha Institute of Technology will provide undergraduate degree education. In its first intake it will offer three undergraduate majors: Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering and Technology, and Spatial Information and Digital Technology. The institution’s total enrollment capacity is 1,080 students. Each major will admit 90 students per year. Admissions will be included in the national regular higher-education enrollment plan; applicants will participate in the National College Entrance Examination. The institution will strictly implement national unified enrollment policies and comply with relevant admission regulations and requirements. Upon successful completion of their studies, students will be awarded Henan University of Technology’s corresponding graduation certificate and degree certificate, as well as the corresponding bachelor’s degree certificate from Inha University.
The approval of the Henan University of Technology-Inha Institute of Technology not only represents an important achievement in our university’s proactive response to the national strategy of opening up education and in the deepening of the Double First-Class initiative and enhancement of international exchange and cooperation, but it also serves as recognition of our university’s long-standing, diligent efforts and sustained exploration in the field of cooperative education. It is of great significance for optimizing our cooperative-education structure, enriching cooperation levels, constructing a new pattern of open education, and expanding our international influence. Going forward, our university will integrate, upgrade, and innovate the high-quality educational resources of both parties, fully leverage the catalytic and spillover effects of Sino-foreign cooperation to build first-class disciplines and cultivate more top-level innovative talents with international perspectives, and develop into a distinctive, first-class university of technology while continuing to contribute to the high-quality economic and social development of the nation and local communities.
